Part B480-6200 is the short sealing strip that runs along the back cover on Simplicity and Riccar uprights built to the MV parts group. It is the shorter of the sealing pieces on that cover, so confirm the length against the strip you are removing before ordering rather than going by the cover shape alone.

The seal closes the joint between the cover and the body so airflow pulled in at the nozzle stays inside the duct instead of leaking out along the seam. A cover that was recently off to clear a clog is a common place to find a strip that did not seat back down correctly, so check the seal any time suction feels weaker after the cover has been opened.
