B220-3900 is the seal that sits where the dust bag mounts, on Riccar and Simplicity machines built with DC-coded components. It is a soft gasket rather than a structural piece: its whole job is closing the gap between bag collar and intake so debris cannot sneak around the bag and settle loose in the compartment.
Gaskets harden and flatten with heat and age. If you are finding fine dust inside the bag chamber, or the machine smells dusty while running, a collapsed mount seal is one of the first things worth checking.
