D386-2400 is the direct air motor assembly built with the clean-out feature, supplied for Simplicity and Riccar uprights from DOT 5 forward. DOT 5 is the production marking that separates the two versions of this motor, and this one is built for the later DOT 5-and-up run.

An older upright built before DOT 5 uses a different direct air motor without the clean-out feature, so check your machine's DOT marking or compare the motor housing shape before ordering this version.

If you cannot find a DOT marking on your machine, compare the motor cover shape against the old part before ordering.
