    Upgrade kit for Simplicity and Riccar Gusto and Moxie style canisters, part D395-0800, pairing an electric hose with an upgraded PC board instead of swapping just the hose.

    An electric hose does two jobs at once, moving air to the machine and current to the powerhead, so when a wire inside breaks, the brushroll goes dead while suction keeps working fine, a combination that gets mistaken for a motor or belt fault more often than it should. By the time a hose fails that way, the board it has been paired with is usually of the same age, which is the case for renewing both together instead of the hose on its own.
