Product details

D390-2018 is the electric hose assembly Tacony lists for its midsize canisters, fitting the Simplicity Verve, Cinch and Snap and the matching Riccar Pristine, Charisma and Pizzazz machines. It is a powered hose rather than a plain suction hose: the handle carries the switch that stops the power head brush roll without shutting the suction motor off, and the wiring for that runs the length of the hose.

Because it carries air and current together, a worn hose can fail in two directions. On the air side, a pinhole near either cuff, where the hose flexes hardest with every pull, draws in outside air the motor then has to work around, and the loss felt at the nozzle is usually out of proportion to how small the hole looks. On the electrical side, wiring fatigued inside the wall shows up as a power head that cuts in and out as the hose bends, or as a handle switch that stops responding, while suction itself stays normal.

That second symptom is the one most often misread. A power head quitting intermittently gets blamed on the nozzle or its own switch when the break is in the hose wiring instead. Flexing the hose slowly along its length with the machine running, and watching for the power head to drop out at a particular spot, separates the two.

  • Part number: D390-2018
  • Type: complete electric hose assembly
  • Fits: Simplicity Verve, Cinch and Snap; Riccar Pristine, Charisma and Pizzazz
  • Also listed as: D390-1800 and D390-2000

Compare the cuff style at both ends against the hose coming off before ordering, and if the machine has been serviced before, go by the part number rather than the model name alone.
