Part B480-5014 is the pressure switch insert for MV series Riccar and Simplicity uprights. The insert is the fitting that seats the pressure switch into the machine and gives the switch hose a sealed port to connect to.
Because the switch works by sensing vacuum in the airpath, everything about that connection has to be airtight. A perished or cracked insert bleeds air into the line, and the switch then reads a weaker vacuum than the machine is really producing, which is how a bag-full indicator ends up either silent or permanently triggered. Diagnosing that as a filter or bag problem is a common wrong turn.
