This strip seal fits the rear face of the motor mount on PV series Riccar and Simplicity uprights and is the noise reducing version of the piece. It gives the clean air motor a cushioned surface to press against, which stops vibration transferring straight into the plastic body where it turns into audible drone.

A tired seal usually announces itself as a buzz or rattle that changes pitch when you press down on the motor cover. While the cover is off, the clean out door seal for the same platform is B388-4200B, and the MV version of this strip seal is B388-4900.
