Part B384-1400D is the black base connector for the handle tube on PV and MV chassis Riccar and Simplicity uprights. This connector forms the lower joint of the handle tube, at the point where it attaches to the vacuum body, and it absorbs every push, pull and lean an operator applies to the handle during normal use.

A cracked connector lets the handle develop side-to-side play, and wiring routed through the tube can get pinched as the loose joint moves. Swapping in a fresh connector brings back a solid, wobble-free handle, and it costs far less than replacing the tube or buying a whole new handle assembly. This is the connector piece alone, not the handle tube itself, so keep your existing tube if it is otherwise straight and undamaged.
