Replacement height adjustment axle for PV-platform Riccar and Simplicity Tandem Air upright vacuums, part number B370-3000. The axle is the pivot the height-adjust mechanism turns on when the nozzle is raised or lowered between carpet settings, so it carries the load of the nozzle every time the setting changes.
Symptoms of a worn or broken axle are a height selector that spins without changing anything, a nozzle that sits at one height regardless of the setting, or an audible clunk as the machine is pushed. Because the part is buried in the nozzle assembly, most technicians replace it while the baseplate is already off for belt or brushroll service.
