B370-3000 replaces the height-adjustment axle used in PV-platform uprights built by Riccar and Simplicity on the Tandem Air line. This pivot is what the height-adjust mechanism rotates on as the nozzle steps between carpet settings, so the nozzle's full weight passes through it with every change.
A worn or snapped axle tends to announce itself through a height dial that turns freely without doing anything, a nozzle stuck at a single height no matter the dial position, or a knock you can feel through the handle while pushing the machine. Since the axle sits buried inside the nozzle housing, most techs swap it in the same session as a belt or brushroll job, while the baseplate is already open.
