SKU B374-0614 is the cover for the height adjustment axle on PV-platform Riccar and Simplicity uprights. It caps the end of the axle where it exits the nozzle housing, hiding the mechanism and keeping carpet fiber, pet hair and grit out of the pivot.

These covers are usually the first thing lost during a nozzle teardown or knocked off against a stair nosing. Running without one is not immediately harmful, but debris then packs into the pivot and the adjustment stiffens over time. If the axle underneath is already damaged, part B370-3000 covers that component and the two are commonly ordered together. Ships to you in 2-5 business days.
