Product details
Part B375-0300B is the tension spring for the idler arm on PV-platform Riccar and Simplicity uprights. Tension from this spring presses the idler lever into the drive belt, and it's that ongoing pressure holding the belt tight enough to turn the brushroll as the machine rolls across the floor.
Once a spring stretches out or loses its temper, it can no longer keep enough tension on the belt, and that shows up as a squeal on startup, a brushroll stalling out in thick pile, or belts that glaze and burn out well before their time. Pairing a new belt with a tired spring buys only a few extra weeks before the same wear returns.
- Part: B375-0300B, idler arm tension spring
- Used on: PV chassis Riccar and Simplicity uprights
- Sold: individually
Replace the belt at the same time if the machine has been eating them, since the spring is rarely the only worn piece in that pair. Compare the free length of the old spring to the new one before you reinstall the idler assembly, as a spring that looks intact can still have lost enough tension to matter.
