Part B475-1800 is a steel agitator bearing cartridge for clamp-design power nozzles used on Riccar and Simplicity vacuums. The cartridge houses the bearing the agitator shaft spins on, and it is built as a sealed unit that clamps into the nozzle housing rather than a bare bearing pressed in on its own.
A worn cartridge usually announces itself before it fails outright, with a low grinding or whining noise from the nozzle that gets louder as the brushroll speeds up, or with visible play when you rock the agitator shaft by hand with the nozzle open. Left running, a seized bearing can burn out the belt or the motor driving it.
