The Riccar Spirit Plus, model R21PLUS, is the upgraded version of Riccar's Spirit upright, adding LED headlights on the nozzle, a bare floor tool with a washable microfiber pad and a stainless steel telescoping wand over the base machine.
Headlights on a vacuum sound like a minor addition until you consider where missed dirt actually hides. Most of what a vacuum leaves behind is not sitting on open floor, it is tucked under a couch, a bed frame or a cabinet toe kick where a room's own lighting does not reach, and a light mounted on the nozzle is aimed exactly where the vacuum is working rather than where the ceiling fixture happens to point. The machine also lays flat to the ground to get under that furniture in the first place.
Underneath the extras it is a HEPA media bagged upright with an auto-adjusting nozzle, a metal brush roll and handle tube, a full bag indicator light and a non-marring furniture guard. A 30 ft. cord with quick release and 13 ft. of tool reach cover most rooms from one outlet, and Riccar rates it at 71 dB(A), which is on the quieter side for a full-size upright.
