This is the purple metallic nozzle cover for the Riccar SupraLite R10S standard lightweight upright, catalogued as part B220-2421. The cover is the finished plastic shell over the cleaning head, protecting the brushroll compartment and giving the machine its color.
Covers get replaced for two reasons: a crack from a hard knock against a stair riser or a furniture leg, and cosmetic damage on a vacuum that is otherwise sound. The finish is molded into the plastic, so the replacement matches the original purple metallic without paint.
