The tilt lock pivot, part B370-3600, is the small pivoting link inside the tilt-lock mechanism that lets an upright vacuum release from its upright storage position and recline to the cleaning angle. When it wears or breaks, the handle either refuses to drop or falls freely with no detent.
This pivot serves the PV chassis — the platform Riccar Radiance uprights are built on — as well as earlier MV-platform machines. The tilt lock takes a load every single time the vacuum is stood up or laid back, which is why it is one of the more frequently replaced plastic components on these bodies.
