Product details

Roto valve seal, stocked as part B480-4800, for the rotary airflow valve on MV-platform Riccar and Simplicity uprights. A roto valve redirects airflow to either the floor nozzle or the hose depending on which tool is selected, and this seal is the soft face that blocks off whichever path is not in use.

Once that seal flattens, tears, or takes a permanent set, the two paths stop staying isolated from each other. In practice the carpet path keeps working normally while pull at the hose drops off noticeably, or the other way around, because the valve is letting part of the airflow slip past into the path you did not select.
