Part 3624009400 is the motor grommet for the Royal RY 7200 commercial upright — the rubber mount the motor sits on inside the machine. Its job is isolation: it keeps the motor located on its mounting points and soaks up the vibration a commercial motor produces all shift long, instead of passing it into the body of the vacuum and the operator's hands.
Rubber ages. A grommet that has hardened, compressed or crumbled lets the motor drum directly against its mounting, and the machine tells you: a buzz that was not there before, a handle that tingles, a growl that changes as you press into the carpet. Left alone, that hammering wears on the housing and the motor bearings alike.
The grommet is made to Royal's factory specification, so it fits the RY 7200 without trimming, and it is worth renewing any time the motor is out for brushes or bearings.
