Electrolux-Eureka Hose Retaining Ring - Sanitaire S5500 Commercial

The hose retaining ring, part A03802601, is the small collar that holds the hose end in its inlet on the Sanitaire S5500 commercial machine and on the Electrolux-Eureka, Eureka and Sanitaire models listed below.

This ring absorbs the twisting load every time the hose is connected or pulled free during a cleaning shift, and on a machine that runs daily in commercial use it eventually cracks or loses its grip on the collar groove. Once that happens the hose end sits loose in the inlet, outside air leaks in at the connection, and suction at the wand drops even though the motor and bag are both fine.

Because the symptom looks identical to a clogged bag or a worn motor, this ring often gets overlooked until other, more expensive parts have already been swapped out without fixing anything. Checking the hose connection first, before going any deeper into the machine, saves time on a commercial vacuum that needs to get back on the floor quickly.
