SEBO Cyclone Unit for BALANCE A1

Position 4 on the BALANCE A1 parts list is the cyclone unit, ordered as 8820AM. It is the stage that stands between the bin and everything downstream of it, throwing debris out of moving air by spinning it rather than straining it through media.

Read the airway from the floor upward and the job becomes obvious. Air is drawn in through the power brush at position 15, or through the suction tube at 9 and the extension hose at 10, carries its load into dust container 8801AM, meets this cyclone at 4, and only afterwards reaches the two motor protection filters sold as set 8850AM at position 3 and the suction unit at position 1. Every gram the cyclone drops is a gram the filters never have to hold.

Fine dust and pet hair pack the separator over months of use, and that reads as suction which has dulled even though the bin is emptied on schedule. A cracked cyclone body is the worse case, because air short-circuits the separation altogether and loads the filtration at a rate it was never sized for. Fitting a fresh 8820AM restores the split and takes the burden back off the filters behind it. One caution before ordering: if the machine has simply gone flat over a long period and the cyclone looks clean inside, renew 8850AM first. The filter set and the cyclone produce very similar complaints and are the pair most often confused on this machine.
