Earlier FELIX machines shipped with a slightly different line-up of tools, and 1998AM is that original grouping kept in production. It holds the horsehair dusting brush (1387GS), the 22 in. extension wand (1084GS) and the stretch hose of 9 ft 2 in. (1495AM). Anyone returning a FELIX to its as-delivered kit wants this set rather than 1999AM, the later grouping, which carries an upholstery nozzle where this one has the brush.

Horsehair is the real point of difference. The filament is finer and gives more readily than nylon, so it clears dust from a lacquered frame, a lampshade, a glass shelf or a row of book spines without leaving the faint scratch pattern a stiffer bristle can put on a soft finish. Behind it, the wand and the hose supply the reach: cornices, stair treads, curtain tops and the tops of wardrobes all come within range of a machine standing on the floor.

Bristles that have splayed sideways or gone brittle stop holding dust and start pushing it around, which is the usual reason a set like this gets ordered rather than any failure of the wand or hose. Both of those are also available separately if only one piece is missing: 1084GS for the wand, 1495AM for the hose and 1387GS for the brush on its own. Buying the SEBO FELIX attachment set as a group only makes sense when more than one of the three has gone.
