The short beater bar for the 16-inch Eureka VGI head, part 25671A, listed for the Eureka 3611. It is the agitator that runs the width of the cleaning head, flexing the carpet so trapped soil can be released into the airflow.

A beater bar wears out gradually enough that most people miss it. The bristles round over and lose height, the bar begins riding on the carpet rather than working into it, and results slide even though suction has not changed. Hair and thread wound tight at the ends is the other failure, loading the bearing area so the bar turns unevenly or stalls under load.

If you are unsure, hold it against a new one; the difference in bristle height is usually obvious side by side. The replacement drops into the brush chamber in place of the old roll.
