This is the short electrified wand for the Rainbow, part R16710, measuring 16.75 inches. Self-docking means the electrical contact is made by the wands themselves as they push together, so there is no cord running down the outside to snag or fray.
Two of these join to give the full working length, which is exactly why the short wand is the piece people order on its own: one half of the pair gets bent, cracked at the coupling, or loses contact while the other is perfectly fine. Current versions have a spring-loaded connection, added to cure the intermittent contact the earlier design suffered from, so a replacement often fixes a nozzle that cuts out when the wand is twisted.
It works with the Rainbow SRX (RHCS19) and the Black Series E2 Type 12, using the PN-3 and PN-12 power nozzles.
