D015-1200 is the screw-on base plate used on Simplicity 6000 series commercial uprights, in the version built to satisfy UL approval. The base plate is the sole of the machine: it seals the nozzle against the floor and absorbs the wear of daily contact with carpet, tile and door thresholds.

On a vacuum that runs every shift, a cracked or worn-through plate lets air enter around the nozzle, and suction at the carpet falls off without any obvious fault elsewhere. This version fastens with screws rather than clipping in, so have the fasteners to hand before starting the job.
