Genuine Simplicity post motor filter, part K50-3M, for the Simplicity 7000 Series uprights and the G200. It uses 3M filter media and is packed in bulk, which is how service shops usually buy a filter that gets changed several times a year.
A post motor filter is the last stage of the vacuum, sitting after the motor so that what leaves the exhaust is cleaner than what entered it. Because it is downstream of everything else, it slowly darkens and stiffens with use; once airflow through it drops the motor has to work against the restriction.
