Part B384-5014 is the black lower cord hook fitted to Simplicity and Riccar uprights on the PV2 chassis. Mounted low on the back of the machine, it carries the bottom of the cord wrap and takes the tug every time the cord is pulled off for use.

Cord hooks are among the first things to break on any upright, usually at the root where the hook meets its mounting boss, and a machine missing one ends up with the cord looped loosely over the handle where it can be run over by the brush roll. A few dollars of plastic prevents a damaged cord.
