This belt protection clutch pulley assembly controls brush roll engagement and speed for proper carpet agitation with poly-V belts. A worn clutch or pulley causes the brush roll to spin too slowly, slip, or not engage at all.
Replace this component when you notice reduced brush roll performance despite having a good belt.
