Replacement on/off switch for the Simplicity Scout and Scout Plus canister vacuums, part B481-0007. The switch is the contact that carries power to the machine, and it is one of the few components on a canister that gets pressed thousands of times over its life.
Failure is usually gradual: the switch needs a firmer press than it used to, the vacuum cuts out when the canister is nudged, or it stops responding altogether while the cord and motor test fine. A new switch is a straightforward repair that returns the machine to service.
