Product details

Replacement on/off switch for the Simplicity Scout and Scout Plus canister vacuums, stocked as part B481-0007. This switch carries power into the machine, and few parts on a canister see as much wear, since a thumb presses this same switch on nearly every use across the years the machine stays in service.

Failure tends to creep up rather than happen all at once: the button takes more force than it once did, the machine loses power when the canister gets bumped or moved, or it stops responding even though the cord and motor both test fine on their own. Fitting a new switch is a simple repair that puts the machine back in service without touching the motor at all.

  • Part number: B481-0007
  • Function: on/off switch
  • Fits: Simplicity Scout and Scout Plus canisters
  • Sold: individually

Check the power cord and the outlet first if the machine will not run at all, since a bad supply looks the same from the front panel as a bad switch and a new switch will not fix it.
