Metal cladding for Simplicity Symmetry uprights in the 6000 series. The cladding is the metal facing on the cleaning head, and its job is to take wear on behalf of the moulded parts underneath while keeping the nozzle running flat against the floor.
After enough hours it thins, picks up burrs along the leading edge, or works loose at its mounting points and starts to drag. Any of those will scuff hard flooring, and a lifted edge changes how the nozzle sits, which shows up as uneven pickup across the width of the head.
