This stand-alone mounting box lets a Hide-A-Hose 6000 PRO valve be set into a surface-mounted enclosure instead of the wall cavity, in grey. It is the option for spaces where cutting into a wall is not practical, such as a garage, workshop, or utility room with block or concrete behind the finished surface.
A standard rough-in assumes stud-wall framing to mount into. Where that framing does not exist, or the wall behind the intended location cannot be opened, the stand-alone box gives the valve a self-contained housing that sits on the surface and still connects to the same pipe and hose the rest of the system uses.
Because the box carries the valve on its own rather than relying on a stud cavity for support, mounting it securely to solid backing matters more than it would with a standard in-wall rough-in. Confirm the surface behind your chosen spot can hold the fasteners before committing to the layout, and route the pipe and hose to that location before the box goes on the wall rather than after.
