Miele STB101 Handheld Mini Turbobrush

The Miele STB 101 is a handy turbobrush, material number 7252850, sized for upholstery, stair treads, mattresses and car seats rather than open floor. Like Miele's larger TurboTeQ heads it has no separate connection and is powered by the current of air, so the brush roll spins on the vacuum's own airflow.

Miele states that the STB 101 is compatible with all its vacuum cleaners except the cordless stick models, so on a Miele canister or upright it goes on without an adapter. Miele also publishes a wide 6-inch suction aperture and an air valve that stops the head sticking, which is what lets it keep moving across a cushion instead of clamping to it.

The air-driven roll is what makes it effective against embedded pet hair and lint on fabric, since a plain nozzle has nothing to work the fibers loose. The compact body steers one-handed into corners and along seams a full-size tool cannot reach.
