Short-length black stretch hose, sold as the bare hose with no wand, handle or attachments included. The accordion wall extends when pulled and recovers its shape afterward, which is what lets an upright store its hose along the body instead of hanging it loose.
This is the shorter of the two lengths in the range, so it matters that you match it to what came off the machine. A hose that is too short strains its end fittings every time it is stretched, and one that is too long will not seat back into the carrier.
