Product details

Suction inlet cover for Carpet Pro CPU-series commercial uprights, part 54.007. It caps the inlet where the hose attaches, sealing that opening whenever the hose is not in use so the machine's airflow all goes through the floor nozzle.

Leave the inlet uncovered and the vacuum simply breathes through the hole. Suction at the floor drops sharply, the brush roll stops picking up, and it is a fault that gets misdiagnosed as a blocked bag or a tired motor more often than any other on these machines. A cracked cover does the same thing on a smaller scale.

It fits the Carpet Pro CPU2 and also the CMP3N, CPU3N and CPU4N. Check the sealing face around the inlet while you have the cover off.
