SEBO Swivel Neck for ET-H Power Head — Dark Gray

Steering comes from the swivel neck, the jointed link between the wand and the base of the SEBO ET-H power head. Part 2798UE is the dark gray replacement for that joint, for machines whose neck has cracked, gone sloppy, or seized on one axis.

It does two things at once, and that is what makes it worth understanding before ordering. Mechanically it is the pivot the whole head turns on. Electrically it is a conduit, carrying the wiring that feeds the nozzle down through a joint that flexes every time the machine changes direction.

Because those two functions share one component, damage here can show up as stiff steering and an intermittent brush motor at the same time, and the pair of symptoms together is a strong hint that the neck is the culprit rather than the head or the machine body. A head that only loses power at certain angles is describing a cable being pinched or a conductor broken inside the joint.

Check the joint before ordering. With the machine unplugged, work the head through its full range by hand: a neck that grates, that has a dead spot, or that lets the head move in a direction it should not is the part in question. A neck that is merely stiff with packed-in hair and fluff can often be cleaned instead of replaced.

Feed the wiring through exactly as it came out so it cannot pinch inside the joint, and take a photograph before the old neck comes off.
