    Three-stage replacement motor for Tacony-built central vacuum power units in the BF40 and CI40 series, cataloged as TC-M4. The three-stage design stacks three fan sets on one armature, which is what the larger central units use to hold suction over long pipe runs and multiple storeys.

    Falling suction at the far inlets, a rising whine, or a motor that spins down slowly after shutoff all point the same way. Replacing the motor rather than the unit keeps the existing pipe, wiring and wall valves in service, and the canister is designed to be opened for exactly this job.

    The BF40 and CI40 units also share a control board, TC-4600PCB, which covers BF40, BF60, CI40 and CI60 machines. If a unit is dead rather than weak, that board is the other place to look before condemning the motor.
