Product details
A power nozzle that hums but leaves the brush roll still, or one that fills the room with a hot electrical smell, has usually lost its nozzle motor. This is the Kenmore PowerMate motor, part KC90FDGUZ000. It has three wires and drives a grooved belt.
It is the motor for the Kenmore 81714 and BC4027 and for the Titan T9000 and T9500, and Kenmore lists it across the Progressive 116 canisters, including the Royal Purple 116.23204111C and 116.23206111C, Blue 116.23119410C, Champagne 116.23209510C, Swing Green 116.23405211C, Deep Burgundy 116.23109900C, Ebony 116.23485111C and 151.23450610.
Check the belt style before you order. This motor takes the grooved belt, so a nozzle set up for a flat belt needs a different motor entirely. Unplug the vacuum before opening the nozzle, and look over the belt and the brush roll bearings while you have it apart.
