Lock nut for the onboard tool clip on 4000-series Riccar Vibrance uprights. It takes a No. 6-32 thread and drives with a 5/16 in. socket. Unlike a plain nut, a lock nut resists backing off under vibration, which is exactly the load a vacuum puts on its fasteners hour after hour.

Reusing an old lock nut is false economy: the feature that grips the thread wears down after a few removals, and the second time it comes loose it usually takes the clip and the attachment with it. Order A732-3700 for the nut and A732-0900 for the mating screw to rebuild the mount completely.
