Stepping from a 0.6 gauge to a 0.9 gauge changes how the brush behaves under load. The heavier filament stands up instead of folding over, so pressure reaches the floor through the bristle tip. That is what you want on textured concrete, quarry tile, grouted surfaces and any floor where soil has been ground in rather than sitting loose on top.
Poly filament shrugs off water and standard floor chemistry, so the brush holds its shape through repeated wet scrubbing. Rotate to a soft brush or a pad holder for finished floors that a medium bristle would dull.
