Product details

Tornado's M 17 Dual Speed Floor Machine, part 98476, pairs a dual-capacitor 1.5 HP motor with a metal housing, so one base covers stripping and scrub work at the lower speed and ultra high-speed polishing at the higher one. Tornado publishes both speeds for the M Series Dual Speed line: 175 RPM or 320 RPM.

  • Model: M 17, part 98476
  • Pad size: 17 in.
  • Motor: 1.5 HP, dual-capacitor
  • Speeds: 175 RPM or 320 RPM
  • Cord: 50 ft., UL listed 14/3 STW-A
  • Weight: 100 lb
  • Housing: metal

What the machine accomplishes at any given moment comes down entirely to the brush or pad driver locked onto the base: an aggressive brush to strip and scrub, or a soft pad to polish once the speed is bumped up. Drivers are sized to the deck and will not interchange across deck widths, so confirm any brush or driver is rated for a 17 in. machine before buying.

Store the machine with its brush or pad driver removed instead of resting under the unit's full weight; weeks of compression can leave a flat spot that causes a wobble the next time it starts up. Inspect the power cord for cuts or fraying before each use, since a floor machine's cord takes harder abuse being dragged across job sites than almost any other cord in a cleaning fleet.
