Tornado sells part 98170 as the Marathon SE 900, a self-contained extractor with nine gallons of solution, six of recovery and an 18 in. fixed vacuum shoe. Self-contained means solution, agitation and pickup all ride on one body, which is why machines this size end up on hotel, school and office accounts where carpet gets cleaned to a calendar.
A 1300 RPM floating brush head does the agitation and a three-stage vacuum motor rated at 120 inches of waterlift and 90 CFM pulls the water back. Solution goes down at 100 p.s.i. Vacuum, brush and pump each get their own switch, so an operator can kill the brush over a delicate section without losing suction, or make a dry recovery pass at the end of a room to shorten drying.
The body is heavy-duty polyethylene over a stainless steel brush housing, and the slim profile, 12 in. rear wheels and telescoping handle are what get it through a guest room door and up a service stair. It weighs 100 lbs and runs on a 50 ft cord.
A wand is not part of this configuration, so confirm what your crew already carries for stairs and edges before ordering.
