    This is the 1.5 in. hose adaptor that joins a Jumbo Vac hose to the vac head cover, carried by Tornado as part 90331.

    It supplies the fitting at the cover end of the airflow path, so the hose has something to seat and seal against rather than being pushed into a bare opening. Adaptors take the wear that would otherwise land on the cover itself: every hose change works the joint a little, and it is the adaptor that goes slack first.
