The Tornado M Series floor machine, item 97590, is a 17 in. single disc buffer turning at 175 RPM - the standard low speed used for scrubbing, buffing and stripping hard floors of any type, and for carpet bonneting when a bonnet driver is fitted. Brushes and pads both work on it.

Underneath, the machine is built around a 1.5 HP heavy-duty motor with a dual-capacitor circuit, a rolled-steel base and a triple planetary gear train. The pair of capacitors softens the kick the operator feels the moment the trigger is pulled, which is what makes a 17 in. machine manageable rather than a wrestling match. A pad driver comes with it, so the machine takes pads and discs out of the box.
