Product details
The patented part of the Marathon 1200, part 98168, sits inside the tank. An internal bladder keeps brush pressure on the carpet constant whatever the fluid level has dropped to, so the last pass off a fill agitates the way the first one did instead of tailing off as weight comes out of the machine.
Around that sit 12 gallons of solution and 14 of recovery behind a 19 in. cleaning width, a 900 RPM brush and a variable solution pump feeding up to 100 p.s.i., so flow can be turned down for a maintenance pass and opened up for restorative work. A three-stage vacuum motor rated at 135 inches of waterlift and 99 CFM handles pickup.
The body is roto-molded in two pieces, it rides on 10 in. rear wheels with a pair of front swivel castors, and it weighs 100 lbs. This one is a walk-behind rather than a self-propelled machine, which is the main thing to weigh against the larger Marathon 2000 when the floor plan is big.
No wand ships with it, so plan for stairs and edges separately. Note also that recovery is larger than solution here, 14 gallons against 12, which means a full tank of solution can be recovered without stopping to dump partway through. Tornado covers the roto-molded body for ten years against two on parts and labour. Tell us how the route is laid out and we can help you decide between this capacity and the next size up.
