The UB-1 upright drive belt is a replacement belt that keeps the brush roll spinning for effective carpet agitation. The belt links the motor drive to the brush roll, turning the agitator that lifts dirt from carpet fibers. It also carries part number 47-3106-02.
A belt that has stretched, glazed, or snapped slows or stops the brush roll, so pickup drops sharply even while the motor runs, and a slipping belt can give off a burning-rubber smell. Fitting a fresh belt at the right tension restores full brush-roll speed and cleaning power.
