Upper dust compartment seal in black, new style with the notch, part number B480-4100C. It fits MV series Riccar uprights.
The seal runs around the top of the dust compartment and closes the joint between the compartment and the lid above it. Flattened, torn or absent, that joint lets air bypass the bag path, and the fine dust you just picked up escapes at the seam instead of staying where it belongs.
