Part B232-0331 is the charcoal upper wand clip, a moulded catch that keeps a stowed wand pressed against the vacuum's body instead of swinging loose. This is the upper of a pair; a separate clip covers the lower position.
Wand clips fail in a predictable way across most of the machines that use them: the plastic loosens its grip with age, the wand starts wobbling inside the jaws, and it eventually falls out in the middle of a room. Once a clip stops snapping shut firmly when you press it, it has already reached that stage.
