VacuMaid 240V Mother Board for S3240, P350P & SR89 Older Central Vacuums

Earlier-generation VacuMaid power units ran their start and stop logic through a 240-volt mother board rather than the smaller low-voltage boards used on later units, and this is the replacement board for that older platform, built specifically for the S3240, P350P, and SR89.

The board reads the low-voltage signal generated when a hose seats at a wall inlet and switches the 240V motor circuit on in response, then cuts it again when the hose is pulled. A power unit that refuses to start, one that runs nonstop once powered, or one that has stopped answering the wall inlets and hose handle points at a failed mother board more often than a failed motor on these older platforms, since the motor windings on these units tend to outlast the board's relay and control components by a wide margin.

Because the word older covers more than one production run of the S3240, P350P, and SR89, compare the new board's connector layout and mounting pattern against the one being removed before installing. A unit already upgraded to a newer relay or electronic control will use a different board than this one, so verify the board markings match rather than relying on the power unit's model number alone.

Photograph or label the existing wiring before disconnecting it so the replacement board goes back together with every lead in its original position, and inspect the canister's other wiring for corrosion or brittle insulation while it is open.
