VacuMaid SR820 Top-Fill Bag...

Product details
The VacuMaid SR820 takes a different approach than VacuMaid’s filtered units, using a top-fill bag instead of a permanent filter canister. A bagged design means the debris path ends in a swap-in bag rather than a canister you empty by hand, and because the bag itself becomes the disposal unit, changing it typically means less direct handling of loose debris than emptying a canister.
Top-fill means the bag loads in from above the unit rather than through a side or bottom access panel, which matters most when the power unit is mounted in a tight utility closet or a spot with limited clearance underneath. It is one less reason to plan the install around floor space for opening a lower door, and it can simplify service in a mounting spot that would otherwise be awkward to reach.
The SR820 runs on 240-volt service, so confirm the circuit is in place before mounting the unit, the same requirement as any 240v power unit. Check that a 240-volt circuit is available at the planned mounting location before installing, since retrofitting one after the unit is already in place adds cost and complication to the job, especially once the surrounding walls and finish work are closed up.
Bag-based collection is worth choosing deliberately: some owners prefer never touching loose dust, while others prefer the lower ongoing cost of a washable filter. If your household already stocks central vacuum bags or you simply prefer that maintenance routine, the SR820’s top-fill bagged design is built around that choice.
