Almond replacement door for Hide-A-Hose HS5000 series inlet valves, part HS5000A-D. Order this one when the inlets in your house are almond rather than white or black; the door is the visible face of the valve, and a mismatched color shows from across the room.

It earns its keep mechanically as well. The door seals the inlet when nothing is plugged into it, and a central vacuum only pulls properly when every unused inlet in the house is shut. A broken hinge or a catch that no longer holds is an air leak that quietly weakens suction at every other point on the system, which makes it a surprisingly hard fault to trace back to its source.

Check the number on your door or valve trim before ordering, since doors are matched to a valve series rather than to the power unit. Replacing one is a quick job at the wall plate.
