Hide-A-Hose ships the HS5000A as a complete almond inlet rather than a cover alone. The kit carries the inlet valve, the full finish inlet door, a low voltage switch, four screws, and two wire nuts. The 5000 is the newer generation valve, which is where the new style label on this part comes from.
What changed in that generation is mostly size and sealing. The 5000 body is about 38 percent smaller than the earlier Hide-A-Hose valves, the rubber door seal was improved, and the hose locking system was reworked around a simple on and off switch. It adjusts to wall thicknesses up to one and a half inches.
That smaller body matters most where the framing is tight or a cabinet run limits how much depth is available behind the wall. Somewhere an older valve would not fit, the 5000 often will, which is part of why it turns up in remodels rather than only in new construction.
Almond is one of three finishes offered here alongside white and black. Confirm you are ordering for the 5000 series before choosing a color, since the earlier HS4000 valve and the 6000 PRO both take their own trim and are not interchangeable with this one.
