White is the finish most 5000 series inlets go in with, and HS5000W is that kit: the inlet valve, the full finish inlet door, a low voltage switch, four screws, and two wire nuts, packaged together as a complete wall inlet.
Calling it a trim kit undersells what is in the box. The valve is the part that holds the retractable hose inside the wall, releases it when you pull, and takes it back once the central vacuum's suction does the retracting, so the door seal and the locking mechanism are working components that wear.
The 5000 generation reworked exactly those points. The body came down roughly 38 percent in size against the earlier valves, the rubber door seal was improved, and the hose locking system now uses a simple on and off switch. It adjusts to wall thicknesses up to one and a half inches.
Check which series your home actually has before ordering. An HS4000 inlet and a 6000 PRO inlet each take their own trim, and a kit bought for the wrong series will not go in without also changing what sits behind the wall. A mismatch shows itself immediately during installation, as mounting points that do not line up, so hold the new inlet to the opening before the old one comes off entirely and you are left with a hole in the wall and nothing to close it.
